I loved being able to photograph Taylor & Chris’ intimate wedding at The Publishing House Bed & Breakfast! Who says you have to have a large, extravagant wedding in order for it to be luxurious and romantic? Every aspect of their day was backed by intention and prioritized the love and connection they had with not only each other, but with their friends and family as well. I’m so excited to finally share their photos on the blog!
Foregoing a traditional venue, Taylor and Chris decided to tie the knot at a bed and breakfast in Chicago! This allowed all of their loved ones to stay together and celebrate their love as a family. They rented out the entire B&B so that 24 of their closest people wouldn’t have to worry about a thing. Their wedding at The Publishing House truly felt like one big dinner party with all their friends and family members!
If you’re looking for a unique and elevated venue for your intimate wedding in Chicago, I would highly recommend checking out The Publishing House. The space itself was designed with style in mind, so you don’t have to worry about outdated decor or more traditional elements interfering with the aesthetic of your day. Taylor and Chris absolutely loved the design and details of this venue and were able to complement the preexisting style perfectly!
A significant advantage to this venue is that you can have everything in one place. As a Chicago wedding photographer, I’ve seen my fair share of couples having to rush to get from location to location! At The Publishing House, you can host everything from your rehearsal dinner to your first look to your reception. And since you can rent out all 11 rooms to accommodate your guests, you’re able to spend even more time celebrating with them.
I loved the details that Taylor and Chris decided to incorporate into their intimate Chicago wedding. They did such a sweet first look at the bottom of the staircase at the B&B with just the two of them while reading heartfelt, handwritten letters to each other. I appreciated the time they took to have just a few minutes of alone time together before the rest of their festivities commenced! After the first look, we took a few portraits closeby (yes, we didn’t even have to travel far for their wedding portraits!) and before we knew it, it was time for their ceremony.
At their reception, they had a giant word search for guests to circle and find words that were meaningful to them and their relationship. How cute is that! I love when couples think out-of-the box and truly go out of the way to personalize their wedding day. Fun fact: when we took Taylor and Chris’ engagement photos before they moved to Nashville, their dog, Franklin, made an appearance. Unfortunately, Franklin wasn’t able to make it for the wedding, but his name was included in the word search! None of their guests had circled him yet, so I had T + C come over and find his name right before I left. It was the perfect ending to such an incredible wedding day!
The vendor team for Taylor & Chris’ Publishing House Chicago wedding did an amazing job orchestrating the day! Be sure to check them out if you’re planning a local wedding:
